Daniel Arthur is a pianist and composer based in Montreal, Canada.

His style can be described as an eclectic yet tasteful blend of contemporary classical and modern jazz.

Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, he began classical piano studies at the age of 7. In high school, he discovered his passion for jazz and composition in the renowned Roosevelt High School Jazz Program.  At this time, he began to work as a pianist for the Seattle Opera.  He was then accepted into the prestigious Jazz Piano Performance Program at McGill University‚Äôs Schulich School of Music in Montreal, where he is currently pursuing a double degree in Music and Linguistics. 

He has studied with and performed alongside internationally renowned jazz musicians such as Jean-Michel Pilc, Remi Bolduc, John Hollenbeck, Christine Jensen, and more. He has studied with classical pianists Mark Salman, Ann Cummings,  and conductor Christophe Chagnard.

In summer 2016, the Daniel Arthur Trio made a debut performance at the Montreal International Jazz Festival. The trio has two EPs and released their full first length album, Vivid in July of 2017.  The trio has recently played at the 2017 Umbria Jazz Festival (Perugia, Italy), where they were awarded 3rd place in the Conad International Jazz Competition, for which they were selected from more than 250 applicants.
